New Mims House Memorial
Witness the unveiling of the “Mims House Memorial Monument,” designed by Lisa Ponder.
The house is the oldest black property in Eugene, and the family’s story represents a snapshot of mid-20th century Oregon and its relationship with people of color. Part of the story entails touring black entertainers who could not stay in hotels; the Mims family welcomed Louis Armstrong and others into their home.
When: Sunday May 29th, 1-4 pm
